The standard process of finishing any wood products for painting is as follows:

1. Sand the area with 60 Grade sandpaper.
2. Prime area with a “surface primer”
3. Sand area AGAIN with 60 Grade sand paper.
4. Putty any areas that are still uneven.
5. Sand AGAIN with 60 Grade sand paper.
6. If the area is still uneven than a second coat of primer should be applied.
7. Sand with 100 Grade sand paper.
8. 1st Coat of paint is applied.
9. Lightly Sand with 120 grade sand paper
10. Final coat of paint is applied.

The Standard process of finishing any wood products for staining is as follows:

1. Sand with 120 Grade sand paper.
2. Fill with a wood putty any holes or uneven areas.
3. Sand off excess putty.
4. Spray with sealer.
5. Sand with 120 Grade sandpaper to rub off the raised grain.
6. Spray on stain.
7. Sand 240 grade sand paper.
8. Spray a second coat of stain if necessary.
9. Sand with 340 grade sand paper

Wood is a natural material with variations in colour, texture and figure. These variations are influenced by the natural growing process and are uncontrollable by the manufacturer and are NOT CONSIDERED A DEFECT. In order to compensate for variations, natural wood. products and waste incurred by cutting/installation please add a 10% to 20% waste factor to your order to eliminate shortage.
